Moodle
Moodle is an open source software package designed to help educators create quality online courses. Using Moodle, instructors can organize online course materials in a variety of formats according to their specific instructional objectives. Moodle, moreover, provides user-friendly interfaces that allow class members to download and upload assignments, participate in discussion forums, keep journals, and take quizzes. One of Moodle’s main strengths is its firm grounding in social constructionist pedagogy. Finally, as an open source product, users may lawfully download Moodle from the Internet free of charge.
Moodle requires that users set up accounts, which are separate from TEC or CIRT accounts. After establishing accounts, users may readily access course materials via the Internet.
For more information on Moodle and assistance in setting up online courses with this software, please contact TEC Graduate Assistant Jason Skinner at jskinner@unm.edu or 277-0465.
You may access TEC's Moodle site here. Username and password will be required to access the courses.
